JUDI LIGHT MOVED to Washington about 10 years ago after a life of living internationally. She has resided in places from England, Canada, Portugal and other beautiful lands. She is truly an artist who uses her creativity, realism, passion and artistry to make magical pieces for others to enjoy. These pieces are truly amazing and need to be seen in person to do them any justice. |

She works with different types of clay, acrylics/watercolors, gemstones and anything else that may come her way. Her sculptures (Weegurines), business card cases and compacts are one of a kind and originally sculpted. She uses Pro Sculpt, a polymer clay and Aves Apoxy Clay which is a 2 part air dry clay that ends up setting as hard as rock. The finalized piece comes out beautifully as she uses various tools to move and brush the clay to create the texture and embeds various gems, crystals, shells, glass, etc that end up firmly in place. The clay is then hand painted with acrylic washes to finalize the piece. Going back to her roots in cartooning, she is now creating black & white sketches on watercolor paper, then using Yarka and Grumbacher water colors to bring her new Twigshire characters to life. These are then photographed and become Gycleé prints. |

Judi has been creative for a long time. Her favorite pastime as a child growing up in Toronto was coloring and cartooning. When one of her teachers noticed her talents, she let her "loose". When asked what things she finds people enjoy most about her work, she says, "I have had many people tell me that my figurines "talk" to them. Something resonates between a piece of art and the viewer that results in that person feeling better. Clients feel a connection to the pieces and, in difficult times, are uplifted. "My clients who have purchased my work tell me they 'just feel better', or love to touch the surfaces of the cases. There is a lot of dimension and depth to each creation. When I am doing a custom piece, I do my best to zoom in on the person who commissioned me with the end result being a piece of art that totally resonates with the client." |
